Businessman John Lowe Announces Run for Legislature

Small business owner and lifelong Republican John Lowe today announced his candidacy for Legislative District 37.

“Nebraska’s unique Unicameral Legislature works best when citizens from all walks of life are willing to serve.  I believe the voice of regular Nebraska families and small businesses must be heard, and heard loudly, in the halls of the state capitol.  That’s why I am running for Legislature, to give a voice to the communities and families across our state who are struggling every day to build a better future.

As a small business owner who’s spent my life growing the family business and raising our three boys with my wife Kim, I’ve seen the impact of high taxes and government regulation.  The Legislature must work with Gov. Ricketts to lower the tax burden.  Cutting taxes, growing the economy by creating new, good-paying jobs and strengthening education so that every child has the opportunity to be successful are the priorities of our campaign.

Nebraska is a great place to raise a family and build a wonderful life.  Our next state senator must be willing to ignore the conventional wisdom of the lobbyists and special interests in Lincoln and be willing to go to work for the people of District 37.  I promise to be that candidate,” said Lowe.

John Lowe has been married to Kim Lowe for 24 years and together they have three boys who all graduated from Kearney Catholic High School and now attend college in Nebraska.

A member of Kearney’s Planning Commission, John is well-versed in the development needs of the community.  John has volunteered with the Boy Scouts, Shriners, and formerly was Buffalo County Chair for Gov. Ricketts 2014 campaign.

John Lowe for Legislature

Thank you to Tim Pedersen for the kind words in Thursdays, Kearney Hub!

John Lowe for Legislature in the Hub

John Lowe is the person we want to represent us in Lincoln. Period. These are just some of the reasons why.Lowe is a small business owner who knows what it’s like to try to earn a living. He believes that we don’t need to be taxed to death. He believes in smaller government which will, in turn, cost less to run, lowering taxes.

Lowe believes that our retired military personnel should not have their pensions taxed. These people have served our country for years, know how to work hard and would be a great benefit to our workforce in our state.

Right now, for instance, if someone retires from the Air Force base in Omaha, they will buy a house over in Iowa, where their pensions are safe from taxation. This needs to change.

Lowe is a firm believer in personal rights, such as the right to bear arms, the rights of motorcycle riders to decide whether or not they want to wear helmets and not live under a state mandate that would limit such rights.

These are just a few of the reasons Lowe is the man for the job. Please help me support him. Vote John Lowe for District 37 on Nov. 8.

Proud to Stand for Life

I am proud to have recently worked with many friends, family and neighbors from across Buffalo County to stand up for the dignity of each human life.  As a community and a nation, we can do more to protect the value of each life and support every person who is confronted with making such a difficult decision.  Love and compassion, that should be at the heart of everything we do.
